So I've waited 4 months to get an idea on this probable invasive. here's my older post.

Finally I got back there and took pictures. can we make a positive ID on this bizarre tree?

I have more pics if necessary, but the lighting was going bad...

Ask anyone who deals with invasive species in the east/northeastern US - I still think it is one of the Rhamnus/Frangula devils...

Here's the spiky look for Rhamnus Cathartica. I think that's what it is. I'll look for the dark blue berries later this summer.
