These bugs were found dead underneath my hamster's cage. These are the best pictures I could get... They are a little less than 1 mm long and have lots of legs.
CLOSED: Found some dead bugs...
Possibly larvae of a fly in the genus Fannia - see http://www.whatsthatbug.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/larval_seed_adam_cu.jpg for an example. These basically are nuisance pests that feed on decomposing organic matter, including fecal matter. The adults look like small house flies, and do not bite.
That would make sense, underneath the hamster cage I suppose. We give him veggies and fruit all the time and of course he poops! Gross though. Thanks!
