This is a fairly large spider living down the side of a cupboard in my workshop. Wondering if anyone could help identify the type of spider? Thanks

The web looks like that of a funnel weaver in the family Agelenidae - see http://www.corbisimages.com/stock-photo/rights-managed/42-53032097/house-spider-tegenaria-sp-lurking-at-entrance for an example.
