Hi there, on behalf of a friend, I would like to ask, are my instincts correct, or is this just a common house spider of the name Tegenaria domestica? It's not clear to me and also, I'm not sure if it is safe to keep hanging around the house :)
I'll be glad of some advice.
Best wishes.
Matt
p.s. this is my first post, so thank you for having me :)
Unsure if this is a safe spider - UK
This male spider is harmless - it might be in the family Linyphiidae - see http://www.pawsforwildlife.co.uk/shadow_hammock-spider.php for an example.
Thoroughly helpful! Thank you very much.
Really put my friend's mind at ease.
Best wishes
