Numerous unidentifiable insects

We have been finding 30-40 of these types of insects all over our house and never have seen them before.

Looks like Termites to me!
But I am not familiar with the species occurring in your area.

You will usually find small piles that look like dirt around.

In MS your termites might not act just like mine. Up here you'll never see them until they swarm. Then you'll see lots crawling in one day, flying off and/or dropping wings.

If there is an Agriculture office close enough you could see if they will identify them. I got excellent info over the phone from our Ag office that regulates pest control.
