Hi
Last week I found one of these, just as we were washing the kids school lunch bag and yesterday we found another in the living room.
At first I thought cockroaches, but it doesn't match pictures I found online and we can not find any more in the house. This insect does not run away. It walks slowly, so is very easy to catch and handle.
Can someone please help me identify this insect?
Thanks
Dave

This is an arboreal camel cricket in the genus Gammarotettix - see http://nathistoc.bio.uci.edu/orthopt/camel005b.jpg for an image. Harmless accidental intruder...
Thanks again Flapdoodle!
I thought it may be a cricket, but it didn't jump or make any noise, so wasn't sure.
You'll be happy to know - it was safely released in the garden.
