This appears to be an unusual color variation of a common jumping spider known as the bold or daring jumper (Phidippus audax). See https://scontent-a-iad.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash3/t31.0-8/p180x540/1167258_304712246343274_1053400499_o.jpg for another example.
That probably is the case, although I did not get to witness a jump! Thank you!
