My friend just moved into a great house and it she is blessed with some nice trees ,shrubs in her yard.
But this one has us guessing.

Hawthorns have thorns, this one does not.
There are many species of Hawthorn (Crataegus sp.) - see for yourself:
http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/adv_search.php?searcher%5Bcommon%5D=&searcher%5Bfamily%5D=&searcher%5Bgenus%5D=Crataegus&searcher%5Bspecies%5D=&searcher%5Bcultivar%5D=&searcher%5Bhybridizer%5D=&searcher%5Bgrex%5D=&search_prefs%5Bblank_cultivar%5D=&search_prefs%5Bsort_by%5D=genus&images_prefs=both&Search=Search
There are more than a couple that ARE thornless, such as this one:

Maybe this is your plant:

I found it .
Thank you so much.
Let us know which plant you decided was the correct identification.
I think it is this one.
Midland Hawthorn, English Hawthorn, Smooth Hawthorn 'Crimson Cloud'
Crataegus laevigata
Leaf shape is wrong for Midland Hawthorn; the last link V V posted is a better fit, but there are several other similar species native to Europe that are possible candidates.
