Seed photos???

Helsinki, Finland(Zone 4b)

I thought, if dave could make us a seed photo page here... with photos of viable flower seeds? I have some pictures, f.ex. of cocoa, rubber tree, bignoniaceae plant seeds. Would it be great if you could see how does the viable seed of some plant look like? Would it help when collecting them?

Or?

Just a suggestion though...

evert,

That's an excellent idea, and as a matter of fact, we have the Plants Database for that. Several members have already added pictures of seeds to the database, and I think everyone would agree that it needs more.

Sounds okay?

Yes evert! The seed photos are great for new seed collectors. Add them to the plant entries in the data base!

OK. The problem is just that I have some big photos which have seed of different species in the same photo. But I will make them separate photos... will start scanning!

Great Evert! It helps a lot to have pictures to refer to!

Oh, I so hoped someone would post more seeds. I frequently wonder exactly what is the seed and what is it's outer covering or other part. In fact, I recently posted in hopes someone could tell me what to look for in one of my favorite wildflowers. Finally worked it out, got a good supply of seed, but don't have a camera capable of taking photos of the tiny seed. Still, it's good that those who can do post seed photos. Many thanks for the work.

Way to go,evert. Think that's great to post pictures of your seeds.
