What a WONDERFUL Christmas gift !!
Congrats to all ..
Did you manage to finish the shawl Susan ?

~M~

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

still working on the border, but it's Emily's birthday on the 19th, so I put down the border, and decided to make her a touque and scarf, so she gets it in time for her birthday - got the touque about 1/2 done this morning lol
Adam's going to have a busy December from now on - Marshall's birthday on Dec 15th, Emily's on Dec 19th, followed right on the heels by Christmas!

Edmonton, AB(Zone 3a)

Congratulations Susan!!!
:)

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Thank you, AB Ann - Emily is posting more pics of the little darling!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

How did Emily make out with her labour, I remember you said she was tired before it began.

5cm of snow over ice during the night :-(

Taking Gord to have the pressure in his beautiful blue eyes checked, he is on prednisone and it can elevate the pressure .. fingers crossed ..
Tomorrow, the biopsy ..

~M~

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

She only had to have an epidural - she looks tired, but otherwise ok.
Hoping she can go home today, Adam said! Boy, they have them "empty the bed" fast nowadays....

Victoria Harbour, ON

That they do Susan, here if no complications, if you have before noon home you go later in the day
If after noon then the next day
Far too soon but in the o,d days those poor women would have kids and work the fields the same day. Lol

"M" sure praying all goes well today but especially tomorrow

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

when my mom had my eldest sister (75 yo now), she was in the hospital flat on her back for 1 week!! When shw was allowed to sit up and dangle her feet over the side of the bed, she was as weak as a kitten - only gruel (watered down porridge....) to eat - no wonder she was weak! She was otherwise in good health.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Was it because she was I'll Susan?

How is your mom and Alice doing?

THink I was in a week or so, likely because prior to getting out of hospital a few days before Christmas I had been in for 6 months, let me home for Xmas as babe wasn't due until late January but back I came dec 31 and had Greg Jan 1st so they wanted to make sure I was ok and kidneys wouldn't fail

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

no, as I said, Betty - she was in good health. Just that the hospital she was in babied the new mothers. Didn't think they should be up moving around too much?!?!

My mom's doing fine - tried yesterday and today to call her, but she must have been up and around at the nursing home - they have lots of activities, and of course they eat in the dining room..... I wanted to let her know about baby Marshall

My sister Alice....... not so great - chemo is "kicking her butt" as she says, BUT, on the plus side she said it's "kicking 'c's' butt too, and that's what it's supposed to do" This is not going to be a good Christmas for her - she's so tired, and unable to do the "full Christmas" that she's used to doing.......

Victoria Harbour, ON

Her health is more important this year,..praying she does give 'c' a run for the money..
Positive attitude is half he battle..seems she has that.

Time is running out for guarantee delivery isn't it..

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Well, if they get it next week, everyone will understand, and that's all "she" wrote lol

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

HALLELULJAH and MANY, MANY thanks ...
Gord had just the BEST appt at the Cancer Clinic!
The oncologist/hematologist is STELLAR .. a plain spoken vivacious woman (35-40) .. she asked questions, examined him .. then talked him through the bone marrow biopsy .. which she did impeccably and with all the gentleness of a woman.
In her opinion, and this is not 100%, she feels it is not Multiple Myeloma .. the bone marrow results will take close to a month, some blood work (he had 14 vials taken) may show her something negative, and, if so, she will call.
I feel as though a weight has been lifted (if only just for a bit), but, I refuse to believe it's cancer, when it could be that nasty arthritis, PMR, that our doctor Dx in November.
I am so happy, as is Gordon .. Heck, even the dogs are feeling the love :-)

~M~

Victoria Harbour, ON

Tis indeed the greatest news "M"

What is pmr?

Bet that result has you in the Christmas mood..lord is good

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

PMR is 'Ploy Myalgia Rheumatica" .. they thought that's what I had in 2012 .. but, I have Psoriatic Arthritis, which ate my right hip necessitating the replacement.
PMR has all the same symptoms as Multiple Myeloma, except there are changes in the blood work AND, bone marrow with MM.

Guardedly optimistic here :-)

Well miracles do happen so yes ones coming your way.

Lovely day, have car packed with pressie, will go to Barrie and visit with SIL and cousin, chat for a bit, go do some Christmas shopping..I'm done but always nice to see what is out there and lkely get more..that is what happens when you start early, they get double the gifts

So there is a full day

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Bob got the tree up last night, and today I decorate house & tree. It's pre-lit which makes it easy.
all presents out - my mom's Christmas present should arrive today, and Emily's birthday present arrived yesterday (today is her birthday, and she really loves the hat & scarf I knit her. Either today or Monday Marshall will get his gifts (a Christmas Story book for mom & dad to read to him, and 2 outfits "Mommy's Hunk" and "Just like Dad" say the two three-piece outfits)

Victoria Harbour, ON

Lovely gifts Susan.

While the weather,is nice I played Santa, travelled to Barrie and did some visiting and giving gifts. Barrie has to be the very worse city, it grew beyond what they had expected and all shopping is on Bayfield, accident so everything stopped, decided everyone was getting far more than normal years so why brave the traffic and buy more!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Called the care home, and Mom got her Christmas gift - don't know if she opened it, but she has it anyway....... a dove grey mohair pull-over sweater - size XSmall lol

Well, my eyes are getting bleary from the knitting of the baby shawl border. It's 13feet 4inches to be done, and I've done 15" in 1 1/2 days......

Heading off to sleep.......

Victoria Harbour, ON

You will do damage to your eyes working them so hard..think you should rest them awhile..wouldn't mohair be a concern re staff washing as it needs such special care.

Had a beautiful cardigan made of mohair, so warm and toasty..always wanted to make another

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Just spoke to my mom - she asked an aide to open the present as she couldn't. She loves the beautiful sweater she says :-)

Now, time to get off the computer and get some stuff done!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Makes you warm and fuzzy inside knowing how she loves the gift..
Susan, playing beat the clock along with Betty

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Nice that your Mom likes her new sweater, betcha 2 bits she'll be wearing it on Christmas Day ..

I once had an auntie knit me a pair of ANGORA mitts, they were pink .. she swore she'd NEVER do it again .. the bits of fluff got into her eyes and up her nose .. but, the mitts were just awesome !!!!!

Still trying to 'get it together' .. no doubt I will, always seem to anyway ..

I'm 'on call' for Hospice over the holidays .. just not the 24/25 as I do the Mrs Clause visits.

Hope everyone is A+

:-)

~M~

Victoria Harbour, ON

Must be difficult "M" to work at hospice and still worrying about Gord.

You will indeed get it all together, just don't worry, everyone will understand after all likely they too haven't felt like having Christmas cheer

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Murray and fam will be here the 23rd .. Murray works midnites the 24-27 ... we do the the Santa and Mrs Claus visit at the hospital the 24th and, maybe the 25th as well ..
Alison will go her parents and spend the holiday with her parents and brother and sister .. we did that twice and just did not like the whole experience, their traditions, and we felt odd .. likely Brooklyn will be working at a function anyway ..

Honestly I just want 'life' to get back to 'normal' .. of some kind ..

~M~

Victoria Harbour, ON

Think you've dealt with so much that enjoying a quite Christmas might be the order of the day

23rd gathering will be wonderful, the actual day isn't the day that matters its the day that family can celebrate the birth of Christ...one can never have too many birthdays ca he

My family left and although I ordered in I'm exhausted
In bed ready to turn the light off

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

well well well.... turns out that the "drinker" has a cold, and won't be coming for Christmas dinner after all..... I think she's just embarrassed. Maybe Doug asked for her to come, on his own accord and when she heard this, she backed out......
So, it will just be the 4 of us for dinner - that's alright with me!

21" on the shawl border..... it's a slow process, really it is.....
heading off to sleep now - tired, and it's almost 1:30 am
Going to help a friend pack stuff prior to her moving - lots being donated to goodwill, apparently. Packing china tomorrow :-)

Good to hear the baby shawl is coming along Susan ..
It'll be an heirloom!!
I think it best 'the drinker' has a cold .. would have been kind of tense I think ..

Jesus is the reason for the Season, whatever day you celebrate on :-)

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Well .. suffice to say, I think the MAJOR part of this Holiday is behind us .. onwards to New Years Eve, which I will undoubtedly sleep through, however, since 2015 'might' be a bit crumbly bum' for us, I likely will try and stick it out.
Unfortunately, the 'Boogieman' has been riding on my shoulder , and Gords as well over Christmas .. January is filling up with appts, but, blessedly, we received NO phone call from the oncologist re tests already done .. hoping that is a good sign ..

Anyway, I just wanted to pop in to say HIYA .. you were all on my mind over Christmas, am attaching a few pics from the Christmas Eve visit to the hospital, and, a pic of Lorna as well ..

Stay well

Merry Christmas All
M family looks great in the photos,
B hope sleep finds you soon!
Susan, new baby new blessings!

I am looking forward to 2015! had about enough of 2014 Dad passing in Oct, dear friend gone in Oct left a 15 yr old without a Dad so hubby stepped in to try to keep things normal, BIL in Palliative care at home, Good Neighbor single lady,79 fell and broke her hip in Nov. Sent my Cleo over the rainbow bridge, sewer backed up and hot water tank blew. Most of this happened with in a month. The crazy girl at work now seems like mice nuts in the big picture!
I am very grateful for health, family and good friends and that I still have time to tell them just how much I love them.
Happy New Year to all I hope that your troubles are mice nuts with health and happiness to your families.
Alberta Ann

HAPPY NEW YEAR

~M~

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

2014 - let's see...... for me, and Bob, it was an interesting and ..... wonderful year.
lost my job, Bob got his - and we gained 2 sons and 2 grandsons....... (My son & 17 yo grandson, Bob's son and new grandson). I would have to say that our year was pretty darn good!!
No major illnesses (tapping head - "knock on wood"), other than my sister starting chemo for her cancer that she's had for 13/14 years (not new, in other words).
We've been very blessed this year, actually.
I hope that 2014 is blessed for all of you, too!! Lots of hugs & warm armwraps.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Happy New Year everyone!

Susan, beginning of the year was a bit difficult for you but the finishing line brought mega changes and all for the good. Hurrah for you.

Each New Years day I keep busy, try to stay in a happy room in my mind but from time to time the events of 24 yrs ago bring feelings to the surface..as soon as they do I mentally tell myself to visit yet another room

Imagine, giving birth to my eldest son Greg and losing hubby on a new years day as well..

So I've been cleaning, you know those corners you don't seem to get to. Lol

Keep this up and I'll have one tidy home

Hope you are all enjoying your day
