This feels like an Austrian Pine with it's sharp course needles, but the cone looks too rounded. What is it?

How could you not take a close picture of one of the terminal buds?

I'd say Pinus thunbergii - Japanese Black Pine.

Bit of an odd-looking one. It isn't P. thunbergii, but could be a hybrid between that and P. nigra.
