I was unable to get a better picture, sadly, but this silhouette helped me to tentatively narrow it down to one of the 'saddlebags' dragonflies. When the sun hit the upper side of the wings it positively glowed a color between copper and bronze. Is that enough for a closer ID? If this gorgeous little predator comes back for a better photo op I will post the picture(s)

That's a great shot, and probably as close as I need - thanks!
They have been back, though no photo ops yet. I usually have seen them darting around in pairs, usually between 4' and maybe 20' off the ground, landing on the tip of a piece of dead tree we kept as decoration - weathered like driftwood - and the combination of bronze wings and silvery wood was so striking I had to try to put a name to it ;-)
