Today I found a weird insect in the garden that I've never seen before. It was fat like a bee, had a beetle-like body, was furry, had wings and a red sac on it's back. It's back was a shiny black and it had a shell which I found out when some propped-up plywood in the garden ended it's life when it came toppling down on it. Either way, I am curious to know whyat this bug was as I have never seen it before. I'm not sure if it is indigenous to the UK, or if it has migrated due to climate change. I'm sorry I have no picture of it, but I have been as descriptive as possible: A bee-like insect, that has the body of a beetle, is fat, is furry, has a shell, has wings, has a red sac at the back and walks really slow.
A strange insect in my garden.
Did it look anything at all like this?
