I almost missed this bloom in the greenhouse today!
Beautiful
I'm just sitting back and enjoying the show Bob. I can only imagine what its like walking into your greenhouse each day. So much colour.
Mike
it must be like a fireworks display in slow motion. LOL
My strictum finally bloomed 2 nights ago and I had hubby out holding the flashlight so I could take pics and do my happy dance.
My red Easter cactus bloomed just in time for Memorial day and my little acanthorhipsalis monacantha that bloomed it's heart out in April is now covered in seed pods. I still don't have any other buds, but things are looking up.
The last one is a prickly pear that bloomed for me this week. I couldn't resist. I think cacti have the prettiest flowers.
Bob, Do you keep your epies in the greenhouse year round?

I am sorry Bob, I tried to delete my post when I realized I should have posted it somewhere else, bbut the edit thing wouldn't let me delete it.
Strictum is still one of my favorite blooms. It reminds me of a daisy for some reason. bob
I drive my family nuts every time it blooms. LOL 2 more buds opened last night and It still has a few buds left to bloom.
I am loving the show, everybody! Thanks for sharing!
Fiesta de Flores is what started it all for me! LOL
I can see why, too. That color combination and the different petal lengths are fantastic.
I moved a lot of my plants outside to start the inventory process and the Spring cleaning of my glass house. I built a wall of plants behind my grape arbors which offers protection from the NC sunshine' (first picture.) Last week I noticed a large bud forming on Avery Fuller. It's going to bloom late but it sure is in no hurry. As soon as I can I'll let you see her.
absolutely beautiful

Lovely just lovely, I gotta get everything fixed before I take on anything else.
If we take part of the Raleigh house apart you might have enough wood/windows to do a new green house. Just a thought.

Those are so gorgeous! I just love seeing the blooms.
What a great line up Bob.
We've started using a few as cut flowers and putting them in a shallow dish as a table center piece. I caused quite a stir when I took a few to the office the other day.
This evening my wife is taking a couple of blooms to the local long term care facility where she works as a night nurse. One of the patients loves flowers. 99% of folks are wowed and don't know what they are. A few hours of floral splendor can lift the spirits.
I ordered a Bruin and it has grown quite a bit. Your flowers are just beautiful. I also have Young Nun from one of our members here, she sent me a rooted plant and I can hardly wait till it blooms (thank you dragonfly). All the cuttings Whollyhosta, Dragonfly, domehomedee sent me a couple of epies too, all have shown new growth. Linda's are healthy so far. I thank all four of you for your generousity and for sending me those for sase!
This picture is a hybrid I'm trying to identify. It was sold to me as Vista Sun but obviously isn't. I wanted Vista Sun and have waited for four years to discover a no ID. This bloom is beautiful and I would love to identify it if possible. Please help! bob
No idea what it is but it is a gorgeous bloom. Were you able to get Vista Sun. If not let me know. I may be able to send you a cutting.
mike
Wow, That is really pretty. The outer petals really make it pop.
Beautiful flowers. I bet your place looks great when these bloom.
Is it too late to try bloom booster. I have only been feeding the three established epies kelp and MG mixture so they can stay healthy, they are putting out a lot of growth. The cuttings I have have been really best this past week with very high winds and heat, I've lost about half a dozen.
Maybe the three will bloom next year.
I almost missed the bloom since I thought my epies were through for the year! I usually would only have Oxy's and Strictum to look forward to after June. Love it!
I do hope to identify that bloom. It is by far the most ornate epie I have seen. It reminds me of heavy crushed velvet in pink, rose, and golden hues. bob
Now that is beautiful
A few of mine blew out of the tree but thank goodness they are all OK
Lavina
I thought about you all. You must have had much heavier winds than I got. The storm blew through here in a hurry though.
Bob, if that's what you call a poor season for Iris I can't imagine what a good season would look like. I've looked at a lot of iris while visiting England but never seen one the shade of that one in the second pic. I could look at iris all day. We get a few varieties of small Iris but flag Iris will not grow in Hawaii.
And you do day lilies as well.
How do you find the time!
For us it was like a good farmers rain all day. It was great. We had a good breeze, and some wind, but nothing like we usually get. My house is about 1/4 mile from the beach and about 2 blocks from the marsh, so when it gets stormy the sounds of the ocean are almost like being beachfront.
It wasn't like that at all with this storm. I guess it just didn't come close enough.
My iris season was hit & miss this year. The ones that bloomed, were stunning, but a lot didn't bloom and I think we ended up moving some around at the wrong times.
My daylilies have been gorgeous. They are still blooming off and on and now my hardy Hibiscus, Brugmansia, passiflora and Plumeria have all begun to bloom.
The hydrangea and gardenia season is over, so I have started trimming and growing those for next year.
Sasanqua and camellia Japonicas will be the next big show for me.
