planting in five gallon buckets

I wish to try to grow cantaloup in five gallon buckets, how many plants can I put in each container,and how deep should the soil be? can you please help? any advice? Thank you and have a great day Michael

1 plant per bucket. The soil should fill the bucket to about an inch or two from the top.
