I keep finding these little ladybug-like critters in my windowsills. They look a bit like a ladybug, but are black and white - and a bit smaller (that is a dime next to the insect) so I am a bit worried. I've lived in the PNW my entire life and have never seen this bug. Help!
Thanks in advance!

Ladybug? Insect needs ID!
This looks like a varied carpet beetle, Anthrenus verbasci - see http://www.pbase.com/tmurray74/image/75394078 for an image, and http://www.ipm.ucdavis.edu/PMG/PESTNOTES/pn7436.html for more detailed information including control recommendations.
