Tuberous begonia produces only female flowers.

I've been growing tuberous begonias for years. I have over two dozen, and they regularly produce gorgeous big fat male flowers (along with females, of course). But I have one "Balcony" hanging begonia that has only produced female flowers for 3 years now. What's going on?

Also, this year, for the first time, I broke the tops off the plants before letting them go dormant. I won't do that again, at least not down to the tuber, as they started re-sprouting much too early. But I see that my early sprouting begonias are leaning heavily to female flowers, for the first time. Ideas?
