What is this insect living in the soil of my veggie garden?

Venice, CA

Hi guys!

I was moving around some plants in my vegetable garden today, rotating my soil, etc., and was startled by these insects that popped out. I was trying to identify them online, but was having a hard time. I scooped one out and took a pic, hoping one of you could help.

Does anyone know what this little insect is? Is it not an adult yet? Any info would be super helpful and much appreciated!

Thank you!
Sam

It looks like a scorpion spider (google this).
We have them here, now let me say I generally like bugs, but these are CREEPY.

This is a soldier caste termite. You may wish to consider having your home inspected for signs of termite infestation.

We have "scorpion spiders", or "wind scorpions", or "vinegaroons" here, too.
At a glance they are similar looking to the photo above, BUT they don't have the jaws/pincers that this termite has.

Yeah, that's one mean looking insect, and I thought the scorpion spiders were creepy.
Pollengarden - We have "children of the earth" here, it seems childish to find them so icky once you've seen a vinegaroon . When I first started gardening seeing one could drive me from the yard. That's before I moved to New Mexico for a year. They have some big bugs there.
We have lots of black widows, they don't even phase me as I've lived here all my life and never been bitten by one yet. They're so small and non threatening compared to scorpion bugs.
