Today

Ewing, KY(Zone 6a)

I keep this by my desk at work and try my best to go by it. I thought you might enjoy it.

Today

Outside my window, a new day I see,
and only I can determine
What kind of day it will be,
It can be busy and sunny, laughing and gay,
or boring and cold, unhappy and gray,
My own state of mind is the determining key,
For I am only the person I let myself be,
I can be thoughful and do all I can to help,
or be selfish and think just of myself,
I can enjoy what I do and make it seem fun,
or gripe and complain and make it hard, on someone,
I can be patient with those who may not understand
or be little and hurt them as much as I can,
But I have faith in myself, and believe what I say,
and I personally intend to make the
best of each day.

Tink no they don't grow here needs a more subtropical climate. They do grow in CA and along the Gulf of Mexico. I wish I could help you. Maybe somebody here is from CA and could help you out. That is a really neat gift idea. I have been trying to get in the Christmas shopping mode too.

Mystic...I couldn't be confused with a NICER person...what did Tink need help with? I'm not very up on gardening, but do read a lot about local plants. Jo

Hi!jo! yep, I did it.goofed big time:( I explained that I once lived in Phoenix and there were olive trees growing there.I wondered where you were located, where is Hereford? If I could locate someone who lives where they grow, I would like to have a few leaves to dry and laminate, to make bookmarks for my Bible reading friends. I am always striving to do something unique, original, and special to give as gift I can afford. I don't know what made me confuse you two I guess I was over-tired and just short-circuted.could happen again!OOOOOOOnnnnnnoooooo

Wal now, Tink...it happens to us all! Especially to me...my memory chip is over loaded and need to "retore" the old thinking machine. Mystic and I think so much alike on things that it is a little scary!
Hereford is 15 miles south of Sierra Vista, which is about 75 miles SE of Tucson. We are 35 miles north of the Mexican border. Colder here in the winter than Phoenix, but COOLER in the summer time! I spend a lot of time going to Tucson, and will ask around. I have a friend in Phoenix...unfortunatley, she just had surgery done on her shoulder and can't get out right now. Will let you know what I find out in a day or two. Jo

Inspirational my friend and wish that we could always keep such words stamped in our minds especially when we are feeling a little negative :-)

WoW! I have this. I have had mine laminated, put a magnet on back and is on my refrigerator.

Thanks for posting this mystic, always need those reminders now and then.

tink76627; we all make mistakes. Wouldn't be human if we didn't. Believe me,I have made some doozies, and embarrassing ones as well; like leaving just one letter out of someones gardening name can change the whole thing. I try and be very careful now when I type someone's name.

Thanks jo! the olive trees I sat under was at the greyhound race track in Phoenix Az.they had a gigantic flea market on the weekends, Out by four, for the races.I lived for that treasure hunting adventure,Back to the original subject. Thanks peggy for letting me butt in!:D
