I discovered this last year and just came across the picture again. I'm still wondering what it could be. Anyone have any ideas?
Looks like a instar for a beetle?
These are treehoppers, true bugs in the family Membracidae; they may be in the genus Entylia, see http://www.americaninsects.net/h/entylia-carinata.html for an example.
