This was in Aronold Arboretum in Boston and was unlabelled. My on the spot learning (aka best guess) points me to a Canada Hemlock (no cones on this particular specimen).
Am I right?

I'll bite at Tsuga sp., but that overall form/character seems to not be T. canadensis.
I'm not familiar enough with other choices to hazard a guess at which other one, but in order to get Resin to correct a rookie - I'll venture that it could be Tsuga mertensiana.
