We are in a neighborhood of houses with small yards. I've managed to carve out a little area for a vegetable garden. My worst problem is CATS! All my neighbors have cats and I have 2 and they all dig and pee and poo in my garden. Last year they dug in it so much I lost 80% of my seedlings. Someone told me mothballs but online it said they were horribly toxic? What's something we can do either organically or with a fence(what kind?) or any other way? Help! Between the drought and the cats I'm about to give up vegetable gardening. Thanks-SP--PS someone said dog hair but we've had a dog for years and they love him.

Have you tried scattering citrus peels or using a citrus spray? Citrus is toxic to cats but cats usually don't want anything to do with it.
