I am a semi-veteran gardener. Have finished the plans for an extensive landscape, especially fragrant flowers, but not all. Have researched extensively but cannot find the answers concerning two herbaceous clematis I would like to include (C. heracleifolia var. davidiana 'Wyevale' and C. x durandii). In spite of descriptions in my clematis book, which mentions C.h. davidiana as rambling around (it doesn't climb), the book lists it as 3 ft high and being bushy. So which is it? How do I use it in my small space, neat garden? The C. durandii, (listed as 4 ft high) also doesn't climb and there are no comments as to how to use it (especially in my small space, neat garden). Anyone have any knowledge/experience with these to help me?
