Please help me identify this insect
CLOSED: Giagant grasshoppers eating my plants. Maybe a locust.
Not a grasshopper (family Acrididae), but a Katydid (family Tettogoniidae). Grasshoppers and locusts don't have the extremely long antennae. It is a female the 'dagger' at the rear end is its ovipositor! It is quite like this one: http://www.whatsthatbug.com/2010/03/18/unknown-katydid-from-guatemala/
which is named as Nannonotus alatus
Thank you.
