Wow I snagged some Syriaca seed from the robin (see, not COMPLETELY off topic LOL), hope I can get mine to stick around long enough to reach my height even.
2014 Spring Round Robin HAVES AND WANTS
Funny thing; when my Variegated Catgrass first germinated, I thought I had sowed them upside down. It looked as though the radicals were growing out of the soil, only to bend and try to find the soil. I hurriedly turned them all on their sides and found they still grew the same.
While I was trying to conserve their germinating energy, I was actually depleting it. They survived in spite of my well meaning yet naive efforts.
I want to thank everyone for their patience and camaraderie during this trying time. Like you, I am very disappointed about the Robin, but under the circumstances there's not a whole lot we can do.
I am going to give till the end of the week till I get really ape ****, and let you know my next course of action, if any.
If you have constructive thoughts on what to do, please send them via private DMail and do not post inciteful words here about other DG subscribers.
Melody has sent Garry an email to his personal account off DG. I know our messages are getting through. I just hope he has the will to let us have the bird back.

Thanks for hanging in there Amanda, and also those participants who haven't had a chance to play yet. I am optimistic yet that the bird will take flight again, but in case it doesn't, please let me know if anyone decides to put together some seeds for the final participants. I have been collecting again, and even have some of my picks from the robin, that perhaps I don't "need" as much as if like to think I do..
Ditto to what Becky said...btw, well said Becky.
It has been suggested that I start another box for the final participants. We can wait till the end of the week to decide. Perhaps the bird will show up at its next destination.
I have seeds I can send too, if needed.
