My parents and I found this on our bathroom wall. It was relatively HUGE (the body part alone, without the legs, was as long as my index finger). It also crawled pretty fast once it was on the floor.
Please tell me what this was!!!
House centipede - look up "Scutigera coleoptrata"...
I found one of these in one of our bathrooms, too. According to Wiki they are "good guys" and eat other insects like termites, ants, etc. So, I took him out and put him behind my firewood pile to keep my firewood from being eaten up.
ps I had never seen one before. Wiki says they are from the Mediterranean. Are they a new invasive species here now?
They have been in this country for quite some time; at least since the early 19th Century.
