that's a good idea, too.
Holly, when/where are you planning to get your share of the plants? I don't remember if you have North Creek plants, don't know if it's easier for you to meet us there or just to swing down to Frederick later that week. The dahlias will hold just fine, but the bare root plants will probably need attention before the swap date.
North Creek Group Buy Part 3
Jill, I only think I have the Dahlias from North Creek, I know Ric is interested in getting just a couple of other plants but I am not sure exactly what he wants and who he is getting them from. Make your plans and we will see how we can fit in. If we do meet you at North Creek or somewhere else we could pick up plants that would be coming up to our area as a back up if they can't get down there.
I'm sorry I've been so absent from all of this, but I am EAGER (shouting now) to do anything I can to help. Happy to drive anywhere. Just assign me. I won't be posting much for the next couple weeks. I can be free all the dates that have been suggested.
There is currently One share of our Fern Assortment available --11 different varieties, approximately 30 ferns total for $47.65 per share!

Do you have me down for 2 fern shares?
i'll take half of the 'Jeanne' phlox, or 5/8 if need be... basically, I want that one, so I'll take however many are needed to make that happen. Am trusting the NC guy's word that it's a choice variety! I also want to put some in pots for future use along the back property line.
Jill, I will put you down for a second fern share!
Re Phlox 'Jeana'
Plant Delights says
"Discovered by Jeana Prewitt along the Harpeth River in Tennessee, we have trialed this Phlox paniculata selection since 2000 with no sign of mildew. Phlox 'Jeana' makes a floriferous 4' tall clump, topped all summer (due to almost complete seed sterility) and well into fall with 6" flower heads of 0.5" lavender pink flowers...attractive to hummingbirds and an exceptional selection for butterflies. Despite the small flower size, Phlox 'Jeana' makes up for it in amazing flower power!"
MOBOT "Jeana’ produces fragrant tubular lavender-pink florets (to 1/2” diameter) densely packed in large tiered terminal clusters (to 6" long) over a long July to October bloom period. Each individual floret has a long corolla tube and five flat petal-like lobes. Butterflies love the flowers. Notwithstanding its attractive flowers, 'Jeana' stands out as having excellent resistance to powdery mildew" "Susceptible to root rot."
Lazy S " *If grown side by side with other phlox varieties, most of the butterflies alight on '
Jeana'.
Perennial Market Place "'Jeana' is a jewel with pleasingly fragrant lavender-pink flower clusters, smaller than most P. paniculata but very floriferous none-the-less. Undeniable mildew resistance keeps the medium green leaves clean all summer with blooms from mid-summer to early fall. Cut back half way in June to produce more flowering stems. Grows to 3-4'.
Wayside "(Sold Out) Better even than 'David' at standing up against mildew, 'Jeana' is the must-have Hardy Garden Phlox for anyone who has been frustrated by other varieties during humid or wet summers. (And isn't that every single one of us?!)" "The flowers begin in midsummer in most climates, and continue right into early fall. This is a long period of bloom for any Phlox, but 'Jeana,' as we know, is not just any Phlox! The flowers are small but very closely spaced and dense on plumes 6 inches long. Even better, the habit of this plant is branching, so the flowering stems divide and produce several towers of sweetly fragrant lavender-pink on every branch! Butterflies and hummingbirds adore 'Jeana,' which thrives in full sun and rich, well-drained soil. Like all garden Phlox, 'Jeana' is a heavy feeder, so work in lots of organic matter all spring, then sit back and bask in the results! Blooms first year."
Not too shabby recommendations for Jeana! I'll take 1/8 my self and order it tonight.
I'll take 1/8 of Jeana as well!
Thanks for doing the research on 'Jeanna' for me, Judy!
Google is my friend! Sounds like 'Jeana' will do well in containers for me and planted 'high' for you and pollinators everywhere.

Sorry guys I don't know where my brain has been. As long as its on a Sunday mi casa es su casa. I'm more than happy to host. Just let me know when. I can't pick up but I'd be thrilled to host just make it a Sunday, gives me a good excuse to force my husband into buying a new grill.
Yehudith
Please guys, I've been just over whelmed at work. Everything I've ordered I want. I'll take responsibility for.
Yehudith
Yehudith, I know this thread has gone chatting along, but I think the current plan involves a Wednesday (4/23) pick-up party. Please stop by the ADR thread (if you haven't already) and let me know what you're doing there, too. Thanks!
Jill, is the ADR pickup/distribution being scheduled at the same time as the North Creek pick up?
I'll take a share of any of the goldenrods; I don't care which one(s). Perhaps the 3 types could then be consolidated into 2?
I was just going to pull some NOID goldenrod for my garden out of a gutter in a road near me (hey - public service, keeping the gutter clear for water flow, right?), but I'll buy some in case recent major road work killed my supply.
Goldenrod was growing in cracks in the gutter and also between the gutter and street. I pulled up some and planted in the woods last year...no transplant shock; it was happier to have more growing room. If it comes up by then, I'll bring some to share at the plant swap.
SSG, yes, I thought it made sense to get ADR to send the bare root plants for the same pick-up date... I'm open to input on this, though.
That was so nice you were able to save the goldenrod Muddy! :-)
I'm happy to let you and Coleup decide which 2 of the 3 kinds of goldenrods you want if you need to reduce it to 2 kinds in order to buy the flats. It'll be interesting to see what kinds I end up with! In addition to the NOID goldenrods I pulled from the gutter, I bought and planted some goldenrod 'Fireworks' in the forest, and sowed seeds from Greenthumb and from a neighbor's NOID goldenrod.
That is wonderful, Muddy! I am looking forward to getting the asclepias, goldenrod and others from the group buy.
My neighbor might want some Solidago caesia (Blue-stemmed Goldenrod-dry shade); I'll probably know by tomorrow, Sunday at the latest.
Oh Shoot! Pick up is right smack dab in the middle of Passover. Would someone from Silver Spring be kind enough to pick up for me? I don't believe this!
Thanks in advance
Yehudith
I'll take a 6-plant share of Solidago caesia. I need to figure out just which goldenrod I have "volunteering" out in my garden... from its spreading habit, I wonder if it's the narrow-leafed one you're looking at. I also need to figure out how to tell it from the wild aster weed that tries to swallow my garden whole... I need a book on identifying weeds when they're small! LOL
I need a book on identifying weeds when they're small! LOL
LOL--yes, I need one of those right now too! Right now my rule of thumb is: 'okay, I see you sprouting up in too many places for me to have put you there on purpose, so you must be a weed.' ;-)
Yehudith, I can hold your plants for you!
Thanks so much gardener. I'm so glad we're so close. By the way, do you want some galanthus?
Yehudith
Haha, yes! I did a poor job of taking care of the galanthus last year so I would gladly take some more! :)
I'll take 1 share of 12 plants of Solidago caesia.

Sorry Jill, but the Solidago caesia are all spoken for as of last night!
If anyone who has ordered plants under the Milkweed for Monarchs Waystation program finds that they have more plants than they can plant, please consider donating them back to the Waystation Program where they will be planted in two large Waystations, or to supplement several smaller Waystations already planned and in the works.
Primary and Secondary Nectar Plants on above thread not already spoken for, will be available to other MAF ers on a Monach Waystation thread and a Waystation Haves posting on our Spring Swap thread. They should therefore not appear on individual swap Have lists. Thanks.
I'm hoping to have at least 10 Waystation Assortments available for the Swap and an addition 10 Milkweed assortments for those already having sufficient Primary Nectar plants growing. Details over here as they become available.
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1355035/
Thanks so much for all your work pulling this together Coleup! I will be happy to share and/or donate back the majority of my plants. :-)
And thanks also to the others who bought portions of flats to help make this happen!!

Sounds like I really missed out!
I've added an additional 2 gardens and could use any plants, especially for butterfly families.I ve had great success with butterfly bushes attracting monarchs and like to improve on that.
well, we will have a ton of butterfly-attracting plants for you to choose from, Sos--including some that act as host plants, which Buddleja (butterfly bush) does not.
SoS you may be too late for this Group Buy but you are right on time for the Monarch Milkweed Waystation Program!!!! As Catmint said, we have plenty of butterfly friendly host and nectar plants for our assortments and some as individual plants.
I will go ahead and reserve two sets for you one for each of your new gardens. Each set consists of 8-10 milkweed host plants and 8-12 Primary (Goldenrods and Asters) and Secondary Nectar plants. These will be available to pick up at our Spring Swap in Lucketts Virginia on Sat May 31st or by arrangement with me.
Please follow this thread for details and support
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1355035/
Hurray! Plant it and they will come!
Judy
Let's keep our Group Buy details and discussions of same on this thread and leave the Milkweed for Monarchs thread for discussing Monarchs, and planting for pollinators and Waystations more content rich and commerce free. Thanks
Posted below are individual totals I just forwarded to Aspenhill. She will invoice you along with any charges for plants any of you may have ordered under her Group Buy.
My apologies for not being able to pin down any charges for Milkweed and/or Nectar plant assortments so I will have to bill separately or accept donations for that should any of you billed by Aspenhill be interested in same. These will not be available until Swap time . Must say that putting all this together has been at least a full time job and miles to go before I sleep and many promises to keep!
Thanks for hanging in with me. We've ordered well over 2000 plants, most of them native and pollinator friendly! Now to get them planted and buzzing!
Judy

Coleup, I think we're supposed to get 2 flats of Hellebore Brandywine
Hellebores brandywine/18/ Happy (2/3) +SSG (!/3)
Hellebores Brandywine/18/ Yehudith (2/3) + Sequoia (1/3)
And one of these flats was supposed to be split up more so Terp could get some as well. I think Happy and I were going to do that with our flat.
SSG, the second flat of Brandywine is under Aspenhill's order and I believe is split between Happy 2/3 and Sequoia 1/3. The flat I have on order is Yehudith 10plants, you 5 plants and Terp 3 plants = total 18 plants. Originally Yehudith wanted 12 and you 6. To accomodate Terp since therewasn't enough interest for a third flat of Brandywine, I took two from Yehudith and one from you to give Terp 3.. If you need 6 for yourself I will take onefrom Yehudith or reduce Terp to two plants.
Thanks for asking.
Please dmail me your address so I can get directions to your house.
