What is the preferred method for rooting rosemary?
Rosemary cuttings
Take a 6-10" tip, strip off the bottom 2-3" of leaves, and put the cutting(s) in a 3-4" pot with 2/3 general purpose potting soil and 1/3 medium perlite. Keep the potting soil moist but be sure the pots don't sit in water. You can bunch 2-3 stems together for a bushier plant. It really doesn't matter that much whether you use rooting hormone or not. Rosemary root very easily. Because the stems are woody, it may take a month or more for them to root, particularly this time of year. Spring is the best time to take cuttings and root them.
