Please Help Identify Spider

Nevada, IA

I saw this spider inside our house, walking on a wall of the stairs leading down to our (finished) basement. It was not that big, with the whole spider, including legs, being only about the size of a penny or nickel. I killed it after I took the picture.

Please please please help me identify it. Thank you so much!

This is Steatoda triangulosa, known as the triangulate cobweb spider. If is harmless, I cannot find any record of this species ever biting a human. They are known to feed on many noxious critters, including fire ants, recluse spiders, and hobo spiders; a shame you killed it.
