Roach of some kind?

Lancaster, PA

I found this little guy on my bed. The circle is glue to make him stay still for the photo. The circle of glue is the size of a quarter. I already looked at tons of pics of roaches, but found none that really look like him. I'm sure someone will be able to help. Thanks.

I am starting to think this is not a roach, and is a bed bug. Crap.

Looking forward to the ID. Don't sleep on the circle.

After careful research, this is a freaking bed bug. I'll never buy a $1600 mattress again. Throwing it out now :(

Well that seems like throwing out the baby with the bath water. There should be a relatively simple solution to eliminating bed bugs in a mattress. Can bed bugs survive winter in Lancaster? Throw it out on the porch. I froze there last November. It's brutal!

There was some recent research that quantified how much cold for what time it took to kill all stages and the eggs of bed bugs; I read it on phys.org
Edit: found it - Journal of Economic Entomology 2013 No. 106. 6 'Cold Tolerance of Bed Bugs...'
The take-away datum was that it required 40 hours at 16 deg. F. / -13 C.
Or fifteen minutes at - 26 F. works.
