I'm hoping the nice folks here can help me out again. I came out of the shower this evening to find this thing flying in the hall. I instantly thought it was wasp, freaked out, and killed. But I was able to take a few pictures afterwards
Granted it's a bit damaged but you can see that it's black and white, had huge eyes, and a long backside/body.
It flies/hovers like a wasp btw.

It is a wasp, but one that is harmless to humans - it's an ichneumon wasp, all of which are parasitic on other arthropods, mainly insects.

Is it a bad thing to find them in your house?? I think this is the second one in the last couple of weeks.

No worries, RD - The only danger they pose is to to other insects - they don't even have a sting...
