I can't enlarge that first pic, Cville, but I assume there's a well-hidden bird in there somewhere!
How unkind of that Cardinal to turn its back to you ; - )
Appallingly Bad Pictures; Volume 22
These were taken in New Mexico in an area that has Snow Geese in the winter, so I presume they were Snow Geese. Unfortunately, the pictures were taken at 75 mph from I-25 through a dirty window. The birds in the air appear white, the ones on the ground look grey, and I don't know why.
The 3rd photo is the BEST of several Antelope photos - so I guess the birds could have been worse.
That's my avatar. Yes, that cardinal was giving me the cold shoulder in more ways than one.
Nice Antelope shot. ;-)
pollengarden, those are great appallingly bad photos!
Cville, last time I looked, your avatar looked like another photo, not the UK emblem you have now. Strange.
Oh that's good...I mean BAD! :o)
Muddy, I changed my avatar to UK for basketball season. :)
Consider it done:

Can I post a low quality photo from my lame phone cam? I cropped this. Coming across birds while I'm out and about really makes me miss having an iPhone. I was riding my horse where I live on the agricultural plains near Denver, CO, by an irrigation ditch. This is an area I have seen frequented by Bald Eagles, then a Red-tailed Hawk settled in a nest in this tree, but now it seems to be taken over by Great Horned Owls. Little birds that look like maybe titmice are living in the bottom of the nest. But this is a picture of the owl sitting in the tree below the nest. The sight of him surprised me as I walked right by on my horse and he didn't seem to care.
Glad you found this thread. I don't have an iphone, but I can take awful pictures with my Canon. :)
Your owl picture is much better than what I considered my nicest one. Good job.
We have a newer Appallingly Bad Bird Photo thread here, if you wish to see it.

Well, the first photo wouldn't be too bad except it is supposed to be Goslings, which are invisible. Second photo has Goslings - too bad they are in shadow and out of focus. I wish I had taken more photos, but Mama and Papa were seriously unhappy about me stalking their family.
