I found this bug in my unheated garden shed. It was slow to move and it was pretty cold out (first freeze of the year). I live just north of Seattle, WA. I'm new to gardening and am interested in learning which bugs are beneficial... so although this dude is ugly and I'm not thrilled to have him around, I didn't kill him (or her). Any ideas what he is? I looked at one ID database and came up with Leaf-Footed Bug - Euthochtha galeator. But its not a real close match.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!
Found this bug... ID anyone?
This is a leaf-footed bug; it's a western conifer seed bug (Leptoglossus occidentalis) - http://www.flickr.com/photos/44691276@N06/10355218973/
Thank you! And thanks for the link... that one looked very similar to mine.
