Probably can't ID this one, but just in case, I am curious as to what the heck this is.
It was laying on top of the dirt in one of my containers that had snapdragons in it. Since it has a thingy sticking out from the rest of the body, I think it must be something that has a large antenae?

Were there also weeds or other plants in that pot or in an adjacent container? These appear to be the 'fruit' (seed pods) of a plant rather than any insect structure...
I had snapdragons, Gloriosa Lily, and earlier pansies.
Doesn't look like they came from any of those - perhaps an overhanging tree or shrub?
No, it was on my deck.
Hmmm. The only other suggestion that I have at this point is that you post this question and image on the plant i.d. forum (http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/f/plantid/all/) to see if anyone recognizes it. To me, they vaguely resemble the fruit of of a member of the nightshade (Solanaceae) or rose (Rosaceae) families, but then I am not a botanist...
yes, possibly nightshade family. a bird or mouse could have dropped them there.
Okay, I will post them there. I am just curious.
