Need help to add new bug, Texananus decorus leafhopper. Family Cicadellidae.
New bug addition
Cliff, the reason you had difficulty adding this species is that at the time when BugFiles started, the Hemiptera had been split into two Orders, Hemiptera and Homoptera and Cicadellidae is part of the Homoptera. This splitting was short-lived and the Homoptera is now a sub-order of Hemiptera, but we have not yet faced up to the task of changing the order for 336 bugs!
I have created an entry for Texananus decorus as Cicadellidae, Homoptera and you can access it here: http://davesgarden.com/guides/bf/go/7120/
If you have similar difficulties again, it is worth trying a search on just the family name. This may provide a long list: http://davesgarden.com/guides/bf/adv_search.php?searcher[common]=&searcher[bugorder]=&searcher[family]=Cicadellidae&searcher[genus]=&searcher[species]=&Search=Search
but selecting any one from the list will enable you to see which Order that family is in.
