Hi this is my first post, I'm Rob from surrey.
I was cleaning the drain covers in the garden and found this.
The body and legs was shiny black with a reddish/brown marking on its body, does anyone know what it is?
Any help would be appreciated.

This spider appear to be in the genus Steatoda, possibly S. bipunctata, one of the species often called false widow spiders - see http://wiki.britishspiders.org.uk/index.php5?title=False_Widow_Spiders
