Need a yellow that does not change color

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

Paid a pretty penny for a yellow brug that turned orange. I am looking for a double yellow that will stay yellow. Can you recommend a dbl yellow that is an established performer and is relatively easy to find. I am tired of paying premium prices for hybrids that may or may not be what I want or too new for growers to know exactly what they'll do. A tip about a good seller would be nice too. I've lost touch w/ ones I used to know. The only one I keep relying on is Alice at KC b/c her plants have been exactly what I thought I was getting. Thanks for your help.

I noticed that beauty in another thread. Indeed, it is like what I'm looking for. Having said that, I googled and the first pic of it was orangish. And the description on the BGI said light orange. I also saw several pics showing it as yellow. Wrong pics or soil chemistry?

I love that one too. It's hard not to . The colors and Brugs are so difficult for me to identify.

My 'Angels Endless Summer' has never even hinted at orange. Always either a pale yellow or a deep yellow, with hints of white, especially the inner skirt. No orange.
edit: I noticed that Anne Kirchner Abel's do get some orange in them, but mine never have. Like the former member noted, temperature, climate I'm sure plays a lot into color. I wish you luck, I too love the pure yellows :)

I was looking at the BGI website description of the various species. One of the characteristics is color change so, depending on the brug parentage, this may happen. I wished I had a photographic memory so that when looking for brugs I could reference the data that I read on BGI site and focus on the ones that typically don't change or the ones with very, very long trumpets (so elegant!). But right now they are all soooo beautiful, it's not mattering too much whether they change color or not. Hope it is the same for y'all.

Anywho, my next one might be Hazelnut buttercup since it is a double and I don't have a yellow dbl. BTW, the one that I was referring to above, from Alice, is Cher Chez La Femme, a single yellow that has stayed yellow. I love it.

Here is a pic of a named yellow but pooch mistook tha tag for a toy and I don't know what it is. I think it is Jamaica yellow and it is a mustardish kinda yellow that stays the same color. It is lovely. Here it is, serving as background for my lycoris aurea. And here is the little devil that swears the plant tags are his personal play things.
