Just caught this in my kitchen sink and am worried it's one of these fake black widows making regular appearances in the news due to the skull like pattern?
Fake black widow?
The image is rather fuzzy, but it could be a male Steatoda nobilis (see http://digilander.libero.it/ilragnonero/caroline/Steatoda-nobilis.jpg), one of the four species in this genus sometimes referred to as false widow spiders. The danger posed to humans by these spiders appears grossly exaggerated in the current press accounts - http://wiki.britishspiders.org.uk/index.php5?title=False_Widow_Spiders
