Located in central Alabama. I've found several of these in my house, and despite tons of googling.. I haven't been able to identify them. They're about an inch to an inch and a half long, and they move quite slow. Someone mentioned that they may be some type of isopod -- and I'm aware that isopods aren't insects -- but I figured someone here may be able to help.
Strange bug. Help with identification?
It is indeed a terrestrial isopod - maybe a Porcellionides sp. - http://www.austinbug.com/larvalbug/beast/archbeast11-11.html
