I found this odd cluster of bugs on a crapemyrtle. I didn't see any egg cases and they were about five feet up the trunk. Let me know if I need to provide a better close-up.

These are harmless scavengers in the order Psocodea known as barklice or tree cattle - http://blog.al.com/living-press-register/2009/05/herding_tree_cattle_bark_lice.html
