Found this guy just hanging out on my kitchen floor this morning. I live about 40-50 miles west of Chicago.
Friend said he thought it was a brown recluse but what I've seen online is that they are lighter in color and have some hair on the body?
Sorry for the bad cell phone picture. Didn't realize the flash hurt the image that much and the spider is already outside in the trash at the house.
I know I need to work on sealing up the house but what else can a person do to deter spiders from coming in?
Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

This appears to be a woodlouse spider, Dysdera crocata - also known a a woodlouse hunter. They are reported to have a painful (but not dangerous) bite.
