So I have seen a few of these in my finished basement. Wondering what the name of it is?
Does it bite? Any way to get rid of them as I have a newborn. Thanks in advance.
Dangerous? Does she bite?
This appears to be a woodlouse spider, aka woodlouse hunter, so called because it feeds primarily on woodlice (terrestrial crustaceans in the order Isopoda also known as sowbugs or pillbugs). Their bite can be painful, but it is not dangerous to humans. If you can reduce moisture levels in your basement, the woodlice should go away, along with the spiders.
