How do I root a mandevilla

I have had this Mandy for about 5 years, putting it in a South-facing window in Winter and planting it outside when there is no danger of frost. It does well and blooms, but it is getting old and I need to renew it. Do I take soft or hard wood cuttings? Any help will be appreciated.

Propagation Methods:
From herbaceous stem cuttings
From softwood cuttings
