My daughter brought me this beetle today. She was calling it a ladybug, but from what I read online, this is not a ladybug at all. I can't figure out what it is though and would really like to know!

CLOSED: Not a ladybug, what is it?
brown marmorated stink bug nymph
It does appear to be a stink bug nymph, but those of the BMSB look like this only in the first instar when they are very tiny - https://www.mda.state.mn.us/plants/insects/stinkbug.aspx
Also, nymphs of the white margined burrowing bug (family Cydnidae) can be very similar in appearance - http://www.bubblews.com/assets/images/news/1107950937_1368414858.jpg
Thank you both!
