Bug ID with spider marks on wings??

I'm blind as a bat but watched the video 3 times.
Please use your no doubt younger eyes to look at Semachrysa jade lacewing and see if it's the correct insect.

Mine looks bigger... it's funny that the one you posted is a newly discovered spicies :p

It is a true fly, perhaps in the family Ulidiidae, but there are other possibilities. A clear, close-up image would be preferable to a video clip...

Can you provide information as to the size of your insect?

Interesting creature it sure looked like baby spiders!

Can you provide more information - -you only said "mine looks bigger"- a written description of the approximate size of you insect? Also, what type of plant appears in the video?

I got an interesting ( but not this one) ''spider mimic fly'' by googling that. There's another fly whose body and wing veins look just like a spider, it's really cool. But that seemed to be the only one in the returns on google to that search of mine. And a moth with the same idea., But none with the pattern of a spider on each wing.

Hello all, I'm the person who took the video. I didn't get the chance to take more pictures of the bug, nor have I seen it again since.

I don't believe it was bigger than that lacewing no, from what I remember it was about 1.5cm and the wings 1-1.5cm, but I cannot be certain of this.

The plant was a lettuce.

Hi again. Found another one today on the same plant and manage to capture for a while to take a few pictures. This one is smaller, around 0.5cm as shown on one of the images.

Although I am more inclined to believe that this is in the family Tephritidae (true fruit flies), it would take much larger (and clearer) images in order to see the characters needed to key it out...

Yes, I believe that's correct Flapdoodle (sorry about the picture/video quality, used the mobile phone's camera and the little critter was always on the move!).

Looks a lot like a Tephritis divisa...
