Is this a flea or some other bug?

I found this bug underneath my scale in the bathroom. It was dead. I showed a friend and he didn't know what it was.

I had fleas in this basement apartment over a year ago and after countless weeks of trying everything to get rid of them, I called an exterminator and they seemingly got rid of them and haven't seen one (and I've checked everywhere) for a year. I have no pets, no carpets, and clean and vacuum every single day.

I really hope this isn't a flea, but if it is, it must be coming from somewhere in this old, crappy apartment. I'm ready to move out if you guys identify this as a flea.

Sorry for the bad photos, I don't have a better camera.

Since the photos are not clear enough, you might carry the insect to a local exterminator and inquire its identity. They would be happy to give you an ID and then you can take the information to your landlord if need be.

Another thing: look on Google Images for 'flea' and see if you bug matches any of the several images.
