I took many pictures but, unfortunately, these were the best of the bunch. I'm hoping someone will recognize it. I'd say it was 1/4- to 1/3-inch long...and it HURT!
What is this that just bit me?
looks like a ground beetle- sounds like it had some jaws on it- I don't think you're in any grave danger, tho I am sure it hurt!
It was pretty small -- smaller than what I usually think of those beetles being. Still, the shape looks right.
Antennae don't look like those of ground beetles, but need a clearer image to be certain of any i.d.
In any case, perhaps I got pinched and not bitten....?
