Bee? Wasp? Fly?
I believe that is a male ichneumon fly of which there are many species. Called a fly but related more to the Wasp. sorry cannot identify exact species.

Ah, thank you! In following through on your identification, I think I've found the exact species.....Eremnophila aureonotata. I thought those little light-colored spots on its body were just reflected light but, as it turns out, they are identifying marks for this species. Of course, I may be incorrect -- and hope that someone will let me know , if that's the case.
