Hi all,
I need help identifying the insect in the attached pic,
Location, Southern Spain, very dry rocky landscape, we are approx 1600 feet above sea level.
I need to ID this bug, known locally only as the 'scorpion spider', nobody seems to know the real name. Cannot find it on google.
Apparently the sting can be quite dangerous, and i have seen a few in the veg patch and even one in the house,
not good as sometimes there are little kids around.
So i really need to get an ID on this in case the worst happens, and i need to describe at the hospital.
thanks for any help.

Try researching the Oak Bush Cricket...
It's a bush cricket in the genus Steropleurus - http://www.flickr.com/photos/valter/8342725258/
It is harmless; the 'stinger' is its ovipositor used in laying its eggs.
