Please help ID this beast of a spider!

Brockton, MA

I'd really appreciate some help identifying this spider! We've been calling it Charlotte ;)

She made a 3' web that's anchored to a bush and a gutter (they're like 6' apart!) at my parent's house (20mi south of Boston, MA). She chills up by the gutter all day but at night she hangs out in the center of the web.

She's flippin huge! The body is about an inch. The legs are pretty thick and have a few hairs but it's not furry. She seems to be dark brown and either light brown or orange. I can only get a look at her at night under a flashlight so it's hard to tell what she actually looks like. I can, however, see some ginormous fangs clear as day!!

The picture isn't the best bc it's night and taken w/ an iPhone. If you give me some features to look for I'll try to a better look/photo.

Thanks!
Kelly

So my parents just let me know they filmed Charlotte as she killed and dragged a big butterfly/moth up to the gutter! My dad's photos are much better. The video my mom took is hilarious, he narrates it like he's going after Alec Baldwin or Morgan Freeman's Discovery Channel voice over gig!

It's that time of year again- when everyone on the east coast posts pictures of these intimidating looking but harmless orb weaving spiders.
